An impressive reception area with a high-definition LED screen: Karl Hugo
When Karl Hugo, the Belgian leader in mechanical engineering, undertook the renovation of its offices in the Belgian Ardennes, it called upon top experts to design a modern, technologically advanced space. HTVLED was commissioned to integrate a high-definition LED screen into the reception area, making it the main attraction upon arrival. Located directly opposite the reception desk, this screen displays company videos and dynamic information, captivating visitors from the moment they arrive. Given the audience's proximity—less than 50 cm from the screen—the image quality had to be impeccable.
The project's challenges: optimal image quality and integrated design
The first major challenge for this project was ensuring the best image quality available on the market. Karl Hugo wanted an LED screen that would not only attract attention but also reflect the precision and innovation of his engineering expertise. In addition to this technical requirement, the screen had to be integrated into a custom-made piece of furniture crafted from exotic wood, designed specifically to harmonize with the architecture of the reception area. Finally, a strict deadline was imposed: the screen had to be ready for the opening of the new offices.
These constraints allowed HTVLED to demonstrate its ability to overcome complex challenges by producing unique and innovative solutions. Every detail was carefully planned to meet the client's expectations, while respecting the project's aesthetic and technical requirements.
The HTVLED solution: cutting-edge, tailor-made technology
To guarantee a perfect image up close, HTVLED began by defining the ideal pixel pitch for the screen. After testing several small-pitch LED modules, including P1.2, P1.9, P2, and P2.5mm technologies, the team opted for P2.5mm. This choice offered the best price-performance ratio while ensuring optimal image quality. Although high-resolution LED technology is still in its early stages, HTVLED chose robust components to ensure the durability and reliability of the installation.
The second step involved defining the exact dimensions of the screen based on the custom-designed cabinetry created by the carpenters. To maintain a 16:9 aspect ratio, HTVLED recommended a screen measuring 2880 mm wide by 1440 mm high, allowing the company's presentation video to be displayed in full resolution. This configuration also allowed the use of standard 480 mm x 480 mm cabinets, ensuring seamless integration of the equipment.
Expert coordination for a flawless installation
The success of this project lies not only in the cutting-edge technology but also in the coordination between the various trades. HTVLED oversaw the collaboration between the carpenters and installers, ensuring that the screen was perfectly integrated into its cabinetry and met the client's aesthetic expectations. On the day of installation, the HTVLED team ensured that every detail, from the screen's placement to its alignment with the furniture, was executed with meticulous attention to detail. Once the installation was complete, the screen was calibrated to adjust brightness and color, resulting in stunning image quality.
